Meet Jenn
Hi, I’m Jenn — an English-as-a-Second-Language teacher, freelance recruiter, writer, and drink connoisseur with a love for good conversation and great company. I’ve always believed that travel is about connection — the people you meet, the food you share, and the stories that stay with you long after you leave.
Teaching online lets me work from anywhere in the world, which is perfect because I never stop exploring. Whether it’s discovering a local café, trying something new on the menu, or swapping stories with fellow travelers, I find joy in the little moments that make every place feel special.
I’m endlessly curious, always up for a laugh, and incredibly lucky to share this journey with Scott — my best friend, travel partner, and co-adventurer in all things life and laughter.
Meet Scott
Hey, I’m Scott — a small-town kid from the Oregon Coast who grew up surrounded by forests, rain, and adventure. I spent most of my childhood outdoors — horseback riding, dirt biking, camping, and doing just about anything a boy could get into out in the woods.
By the time I hit 21, I’d had my fill of gray skies and soggy boots. I packed up everything I owned and chased the sunshine south, first landing in Southern California. After a couple of years of city life, I felt that same old itch to move on — so I loaded up again and headed for Texas. That’s where I settled in, built a career as an electrician, and stayed for the next 21 years.
In 2017, everything changed when I met Jenn — my best friend, partner, and favorite travel companion. Together we’ve been writing a whole new chapter — trading routine for freedom, and comfort for curiosity — one country at a time.
Meet J & S Adventures
We met online in our 40s and hit it off immediately. Even though we lived about an hour and a half apart, we spent as much time together as we could right from the start. Neither of us have kids — and both agreed we didn’t want any — which made it easy to focus on the things that truly make us happy: adventure, connection, and shared experiences.
Early on, Scott suggested a “test trip” to see how well we traveled together — figuring that if it didn’t work, better to find out before things got too serious. But it couldn’t have gone better. We laughed, explored, and realized we were perfectly in sync on the road.
A few years later, Scott shared his long-time dream of traveling the world full-time. It took a bit of convincing, but once Jenn said she was ready, everything changed. Together, we sold nearly everything we owned — keeping only what fit into a couple of suitcases — and set off to chase a new life of freedom and discovery. Our first stop was Costa Rica, where Scott became a certified Dive Instructor, and from there, the adventure truly began.
Jenn came up with the idea to document our travels, starting what would become J&S Adventures. At first, Scott wasn’t too sure about being in front of the camera (definitely not his comfort zone!), but little by little, he got on board. Now we travel, film, edit, and share our journey together — just a couple who traded the ordinary for the adventure of a lifetime, taking the scenic route one country at a time.
